We are often asked 'can we use drippers on rainwater tanks for our gardens?'

Rain Tanks, with a pressure pump installed, can supply all types or drippers and emitters, within the performance capacity of the pump.

For rain tanks without a pump installed, the height of water in the tank should be about 2 to 3 m above the height of the drippers. This will provide an operating pressure for the drippers at around 20 to 30 kPa.

For Rain tanks with gravity feed supply to drippers, it is suggested only non-compensating drippers and emitters be installed, such as the Antelco Agri Drip Classic, turbulent flow drip emitters. In general, Pressure Compensating drip emitters are not suitable to rain tank, gravity feed systems.
